ArcGIS Desktop 9.2 Install "Oddity"

Does anyone else think it odd that the 9.2 ArcGIS Desktop install splash screen bears a quote from Jack Dangermond? I thought it was out of character. I know Jack as a modest, humble individual, who would object to such a design suggestion. Yet it is there.

Am I reading too much into this?

Wasn't there a quote from him on the ESRI homepage for a long time? What is the install quote?

You are probably correct about the website quote. It's different, though. It's one thing if you come to my website for free stuff and I serve you a quote. It's expected. It's another if you buy a product from me, and I serve you a quote. It's generally not expected.

I know, it happens all the time. The "oddity" is not the quote, however, it's the fact that it comes from Jack, of all people!

Very amusing! I don't know Jack. I'm curious to know what the exact quote is too. We haven't installed 9.2 yet.

I've got 9.2 installed at MCF, but not at home yet(no DVD drive, and the CD's haven't come in yet) - didn't notice the quote, but I'll check for it when I go back to the office

I installed earlier this week, the splash screen didn't seem too bad - it wasn't like a statement of 'I am the best' just kind of an announcement of what GIS is. It didn't particularly bother me
