Extreme Zooms in Google Maps

Amazing detail in some areas on Google Maps. How long before all of the Earth's surface is available at this level of detail, live?

[Update] Some of you may have noticed that if you zoom out you can't zoom back in to the same level through the GUI (Graphical User Interface). BUT you can manipulate the "z" value in the URL to zoom back in. For this particular (very small) area, the maximum z value is 23 (19 through the GUI). For New Jersey, the maximum z value is 19 (unless there are "Easter Egg" areas like this one that I don't know about, where you can zoom in tighter).

    Antanas,

Wow! I have mixed feelings on this level of detail. For environmental analysis it makes me drool, but I also feel it would be an invasion of privacy. Anyone else think this is too close for comfort? I wouldn't be surprised if this level of detail wasn't available live in the next 7-10 years.

An interesting question. A commonly applied test for answering that question is whether the action violates citizens' reasonable expectation of privacy. Which leaves a lot of room for subjectivity, as those expectations vary geographically, and over time.
