2010 Decennial US Census LUCA Program
The Local Update of Census Addresses program, also known as LUCA, is a decennial census geographic partnership program that will allow the Census Bureau to benefit from local knowledge in developing its Master Address File (MAF) for the 2010 Census. Local governments who wish to participate can select from several participation options (Option One being the highest level of commitment), and can also select to use or not to use GIS in the process.
The Township of Brick, New Jersey, has committed to participating at Option One, and has contracted ENTCHEV GIS Architects for assistance with the project. I urge all local governments to participate at Option One, and to go digital. Both the town and the Census Bureau will benefit, it is not as complicated as it may seem, and there is always help available.
Program registration closes December 31, 2007.
