MAC-URISA LiDAR Symposium Summary
[UPDATE 10/24/2008 8:26 PM] Two LiDAR-related URLs from Jason: CLICK (Center for LiDAR Information Coordination and Knowledge) and the LiDAR Bulletin Board.
"Take care of the sense, and the sounds will take care of themselves." --The Duchess, Alice in Wonderland
In the opening presentation of the October 21, 2008 MAC-URISA LiDAR Symposium at the Rutgers EcoComplex in Bordentown, New Jersey, Jason Stoker did just that. He took care of the sense, and the sounds flowed beautifully and effortlessly to paint a comprehensive yet easy-to-understand picture of what LiDAR is.
Jason is a Physical Scientist at USGS EROS, where he leads the Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) research and development activities. He is also an excellent speaker, and a tough act to follow, as most of the remaining presentations showed.
All in all, the symposium was a useful, informative and well-attended event. Some presentations I could have done without.
MAC-URISA has promised to post a session recap on their website. (Not yet posted at publication time, 10/24/2008 1:39:13 PM).
